Mark Wilson is a landscape painter based in Swansea.
He grew up in Mumbles and spent his early years fishing and exploring rock pools on the stunning coastline of the Gower Peninsula.
Mark studied Art and Education in West Sussex before embarking on a long and enjoyable teaching career.
Drawing and painting was always a passion and now he is devoting more time to his art.
His inspiration comes directly from the places of his childhood: the dramatic coastlines and enchanting countryside of Gower and his paintings are a personal response to its ever changing light and weather.
Mark is primarily a plein air painter, working quickly on location from direct observation. He paints in oil on board to record the colour and moods of a landscape he knows and loves.
